2003 marked the Bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and schools, libraries and other organizations planned special events and projects. A major character in the story of the expedition is Sacajawea. She was just a Shoshone teenager when she helped lead explorers Lewis and Clark through the wilds of the American Northwest.
